SAND & ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER

The Sand Filter & Activated Carbon Filter system provides efficient removal of suspended solids, chlorine, and organic impurities to deliver crystal-clear, odor-free water. Its durable, low-maintenance design ensures reliable performance for industrial, agricultural, and commercial water treatment applications.

About Sand & Carbon Filter

At Ishan Paryavaran Private Limited, we are at the forefront of environmental innovation, and our Sand and Carbon Filter system stands as a testament to our commitment to sustainable water treatment solutions. Designed with precision engineering and cutting-edge technology, the Sand and Carbon Filter system offers unparalleled performance, efficiency, and reliability, making it the cornerstone of modern water clarification processes.

How it Works

Multi-Layer Filtration: Raw water passes through graded layers of sand and gravel that trap suspended solids, turbidity, and particulate matter, producing clean, clarified water.

Uniform Flow Distribution: Inlet distributors ensure even water flow across the media bed, maximizing contact time and preventing channeling or uneven filtration.

Backwashing Process: Once pressure drop increases due to clogging, the system reverses flow (backwash) to remove trapped impurities, restoring filter efficiency.

Activated Carbon Adsorption: In the carbon filter, water flows through activated carbon granules that adsorb chlorine, organic compounds, color, odor, and residual chemicals.

Continuous & Versatile Use: Combined filtration system delivers high-quality water for industrial, agricultural, and commercial uses – ranging from wastewater treatment and irrigation to beverage, pharmaceutical, and food production.

Key Components

FRP/MS Vessel: Cylindrical pressure vessel (FRP or mild steel) that houses the filter media and withstands operating pressure during filtration and backwash cycles.

Multi-Media Bed: Layers of graded sand, gravel, and pebbles in the sand filter, and high-quality granular activated carbon (GAC) in the carbon filter for adsorption and purification.

Underdrain & Distributor System: Internal piping network that ensures uniform flow distribution during filtration and efficient backwashing.

Valve & Piping Assembly: Manual or automatic multiport valves control the filtration, backwash, rinse, and service operations with minimal operator effort.

Pressure Gauge & Sampling Points: Instruments for monitoring inlet/outlet pressure, indicating clogging levels, and collecting water samples to verify filtration quality.

Benefits

High Filtration Efficiency: Effectively removes suspended solids, turbidity, and organic contaminants, delivering consistently clear water.

Improved Taste & Odor: Activated carbon adsorption eliminates chlorine, odor, and residual organic compounds, enhancing water quality for consumption or processing.

Low Maintenance & Long Life: Simple backwashing design ensures easy cleaning, minimal downtime, and extended media lifespan.

Versatile Applications: Suitable for wastewater treatment, process water, irrigation, pharmaceuticals, beverages, and food production.

Cost-Effective Operation: Low energy consumption, easy automation options, and durable construction reduce overall operational costs.
